frustrating

I had another attempt, this morning, to get the choke cable routed correctly. I eventually took it out of the bracket I made and cable tied the cable to the top of the coil cover.
The bike is still coughing a bit as I open up the throttle. It's not as bad as it was with the cable secured. It's still not quite right so I'll need to think of something else. There's still not enough free play in the cable so the business end is probably not sitting correctly in the carb body. I've got the feeling that the best way to sort it out would be to shorten the outer cable. But, just in case that doesn't work, I think I'll order a new cable. Then if that is not the answer, I'll at least have a stock cable to try other solutions.
